Cooling Adapter for Extreme Temperatures

It is important to consider both the ambient and media temperature conditions of an application when selecting a pressure transducer. These temperatures have a direct effect on the accuracy of the transducer. Most pressure transducers supplied by Core Sensors are compensated over a specified pressure and temperature to help minimize the effects of temperature.
For applications where the temperature is outside of the transducers specified temperature range, Core Sensors offers an all 316L SS cooling adapter. This adapter isolates the transducer by increasing the distance from the extreme media temperatures. The temperature of the media dissipates as it passes through the cooling adapter. The same installation method is effective when dealing with extremely cold medias. In this instance, the cooling adapter acts as a heat exchanger.
Standard 1/4″ NPT male and female connections allow for quick threaded installation in a modular design. The cooling adapter can quickly be added or removed without additional hardware or equipment. While factors such as ambient temperature, media temperature and airflow need to be considered, temperature drops of 250°F are possible. The max pressure rating of the adapter is 10,000 PSI and weighs approximately 8 ounces.
Core Sensors stocks cooling adapters for quick shipment and can be ordered using part number 00449-00.

About Core Sensors:
Core Sensors designs, manufactures and distributes high quality sensors for measuring pressure and temperature properties for industrial and hazardous applications worldwide. Core offers solutions for industrial, submersible, differential and hazardous applications in both standard and custom packaging. In-house design and manufacturing capabilities along with strategic manufacturing partners allows Core to create solutions to some of the most complex sensor requirements.
A common concern is the performance of the transducer in various temperature conditions. Temperature is an important specification as it has a direct effect on the accuracy of the transducer. In this article we will discuss the different temperature specifications that are commonly found on our datasheets and how to interpret them.
One of the most important steps when specifying the most appropriate sensor for your application is selecting the wetted material of the process connection (or pressure port).Core Sensors offers a wide range of wetted materials to ensure the most adequate compatibility in your application.
Core Sensors has received ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) Type approval for a series of pressure transducers to be used in marine and offshore applications.
