3/8-24 UNF (CS90 or CS91) or 7/16-20 (CS91) male process connection
These carefully engineered thread designs allow for a compact diameter while maintaining the ability to measure extreme pressures up to 30,000 PSI.
Enhancing High Pressure Sensor Performance With A Replaceable Metal Seal
by Core Sensors / February 6, 2025
Core Sensors has developed an innovative mechanical crush seal for its CS90 and CS91 pressure sensors, improving useability of high-pressure sensors in demanding environments. This design combines precision engineering with advanced materials to deliver superior performance and reliability.
At the front end of the process connection, Core Sensors has incorporated a replaceable crush seal, which serves as a mechanical barrier between the pressure sensor and the mating interface. This innovative feature offers several advantages:
Material Selection: The crush seal is fabricated from Inconel 625, a slightly softer material than the sensor body, while maintaining equivalent material compatibility and temperature rating.
Enhanced Sealing: The softer material allows for increased deformation, ensuring a more effective seal between the sensor and the system or tool.
Thread Protection: By acting as a sacrificial component, the crush seal prevents damage to the front cone thread, preserving the integrity of the sensor body.
Easy Replacement: The crush seal insert can be easily removed and replaced, facilitating sensor reinstallation in new tools or systems without compromising performance.

The innovative crush seal design offers several benefits for high-pressure applications:
Improved Reliability: The mechanical seal ensures a robust connection, reducing the risk of leaks and failures in extreme environments.
Extended Sensor Life: By protecting the sensor from thread damage, the crush seal helps prolong the operational life of the pressure sensor.
Versatility: The ability to replace the crush seal allows for easy adaptation to different tools and systems, increasing the sensor’s versatility.
Cost-Effective: The replaceable nature of the crush seal reduces maintenance costs and downtime associated with sensor replacement.
