While the most common output signals specified in pressure sensors are current or voltage, there are applications where frequency output pressure transducer is the preferred. The prevalent choice is 1-6kHz as a linear signal over the operating pressure range, with an excitation voltage from 10-28VDC. What type of applications commonly specify frequency output?
The most common application is one where a variable frequency drive (VFD) is in use and the pressure sensor is used in the VFD control panel. VFDs are used to control the speed and torque of AC motors by adjusting the input frequency and voltage. Pressure transducers with a 1-6kHz frequency output play a critical role in these systems by monitoring pressure levels and providing feedback to adjust motor operation dynamically.
