Core Sensors Receives ANSI/UL 122701 Single Seal Approval for Hazardous Location Products
Core Sensors is proud to announce that its complete line of hazardous location products has received ANSI/UL 122701 single seal approval for pressures up to 30,000 PSI. This approval marks an important milestone for customers who need dependable pressure measurement solutions in demanding hazardous environments.
By expanding single seal approval, Core Sensors can better support applications where compliance, safety, and high-pressure performance are critical. The approval helps simplify product selection for customers operating in hazardous locations while maintaining the rugged performance expected from Core Sensors products.
ANSI/UL 122701 Single Seal certification is a hazardous-location safety standard for equipment that uses a single process seal between electrical components and flammable or combustible process fluids. It helps reduce the risk that a seal failure could allow those fluids to migrate into the electrical system, which is especially important in environments where ignition hazards may exist.
Single Seal approval is an important certification for pressure sensors used in hazardous locations. In practical terms, it helps support safer installation and use in environments where flammable gases, vapors, or other explosive atmospheres may be present.
For customers, this can reduce complexity during specification and qualification. It also helps reinforce confidence that Core Sensors hazardous location products are designed for demanding applications where safety and reliability cannot be compromised.
Core Sensors’ hazardous location product line includes solutions designed for applications where durable construction and certified performance are essential. With single seal approval now covering pressures from less than 1 PSI up to 30,000 PSI, the product family is positioned to serve a wider range of high-pressure systems.
This expanded approval supports use in tough industrial settings where pressure measurement must remain stable, repeatable, and compliant. Whether the application involves process monitoring, control systems, or test equipment, the certification helps customers select a solution with greater confidence.
The ANSI/UL 122701 single seal approval is especially valuable in industries where hazardous location compliance and high-pressure operation overlap. Common applications include:
For engineers, OEMs, and maintenance teams, certification can be just as important as performance. A broader single seal approval range gives customers more flexibility when designing systems that need to operate safely in hazardous areas.
It can also help reduce the need to evaluate multiple sensor configurations for different pressure ranges. That means simpler specification, easier integration, and fewer constraints when building or upgrading equipment.
Core Sensors has long supported industrial customers with pressure measurement solutions designed for demanding environments. This approval reinforces that commitment and expands the company’s ability to serve customers who need hazardous location products with high-pressure capability.
For applications that require specialized mechanical, material, or electrical configurations, Core Sensors also designs custom pressure transducers. That flexibility allows the company to support both standard and highly specific application needs.
